Encore Whimsies...YAY!

Hey Ya'll and happy Friday!

I hope you have had a wonderful week. My Friday started out AMAZING because I received a package in the mail that I never thought I would even have a chance to get! I kind of feel bad  posting this since they are no longer available, but you never know when Pam may bring them back! So here is the story..

I learned about Pam's Whimsies (Whimsical Ideas by Pam) while looking at some of my favorite nail bloggers year end favorites. Before then I was just a drugstore nail polish girl with maybe a Essie thrown in or a Color Club that I received from Birchbox!  So I went and investigated with the deal was with the Whimsies and why so many people had them on their 2012 favorites .Well I just so happened upon her Facebook the day she was releasing her Valentine collection in January. So after figuring out her ordering procedure, which was a little confusing to me at  first, but now I love it, I ordered Eloise. Well that's all it took for me to become hooked! While I was looking at whimsies swatches on the web and trying to figure out which would be my next purchase (because by then I had ordered all the Valentine collection) I kept coming up on a color that was right up my alley, Saturday Morning Cartoon (SMC). I loved it! But soon found out it was discontinued. So a couple of weeks ago Pam posted on Facebook that was she was bringing Hatched back for a limited time I thought well maybe there was a chance for SMC. Well just a couple of days later she announced she was bring Hatched, SMC, and Georgia Peach Fuzz. So I waited last Sunday for the 9:01 ordering time to get here and placed it. Initially, I thought I had missed out on Hatched which was bummed about, but then Pam saw where I had posted about it on Facebook and sent me an email saying she had just missed it on my email so she quickly invoiced me for it. This is one of the many reasons I love her, she has WONDERFUL customer service! So I normally get Pam's packages within two day  of shipping. Monday was Memorial day so they shipped in Tuesday. I had hoped I'd get them Thursday, but was excited to get them today. I mean who can complain about three days!!! So here are the pictures...

Looks like a kid on Christmas morning! (I also feel like a kid, I was so excited). That is Chastity making an appearance in the background. She is a chocolate lab about 1 and half years old!  She had to be right in the middle of the excitement!

AND here is the mani. I put all three together on one mani just for pictures for the blog. I am going to leave SMC cartoon on and do an accent nail!

Georgia Peach Fuzz was a peach base with different size peach glitters. Because of the base color I used it made this look a little darker ( I had to because my skin is so pale). So you can make it littler or darker depending on what you want! I used three coats.

Hatched is a yellow base with teal, pink, and peach larger glitter and smaller glitter. This color is so much better then the picture even shows! I used three coats, but the last two were very thin because I did not want to cover up the gorgeous glitter!

SMC is another that is so much better in person! It is a blue base with red, green, sliver, and blue "larger" glitter and green tiny glitter. I used three coats, but like with Hatched the last two were thin coats!

I layered all these colors over a base color so I do not have to use as much of my precious whimsies! Since they are no longer available I wanted to use as little as possible! All nails were topped with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat!

Whimsies and Base Coats:
SMC- Julep Alley
Georgia Peach Fuzz- Essie Tart Disco
Hatched- Butter London Cheeky Chops

I know it's upside down but you can still get an idea of the colors!

In conclusion, did these three live up to my expectations? No, they totally shattered my expectations they were so good! Like I thought, SMC was my favorite, then Hatched, then GA Peach Fuzz. GA Peach Fuzz is so amazing, but it just does not look so great on my skin color! I probably could use it as  an accent nail, but not as a full mani. Which is totally fine because I can already think of all kinds if things I can do with it! This Encore collection just made my week. I am so happy that she decided to do these and it proves she cares about what her customers want! If you are interested in Pam's polishes you need to follow her on Facebook because that is where she will let you know about retocks, etc... You can find her at Whimsical Ideas by Pam!

Have a wonderful weekend and leave me a comment if you have a question!

Just wanted to add some pictures in the sun!

Essie Neon and Summer Colletion...The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!

Hey ya'll

Happy Thursday! I hope everyone has had a wonderful week so far. As I've stated before, I am a Special Ed teacher and this has been my first full week out of school. Got to say, I am already a little bored! BUT  I do have summer camp starting next week, so I am sure I will be back to complaining about being  busy before long!

Today I have a few of the Essie 2013 Summer Collection. Most of them are Neon, but one is a shimmer. OK, so I love neon's, so I know they can be a pain to deal with. I had read on some of my fave blogs about this neon collection, but of course, I am stubborn! So here we go!

I did a coat of white under all the nails because Essie has a white polish on their display with it and I just know they work better over a white coat! I used Andreas Choice in Reverso.

Here goes the pictures:

L-R Bottle Service, Sunday Funday, DJ Play that Song, Saturday Disco Fever, Shake Your $$ Maker, AC Reverso, Whimsical Ideas by Pam La*De*Dots

The second color from the left is Sunday Funday from the Summer Collection. The review is coming soon!

Ok, I had no intentions of adding a topcoat of glitter to these. However, some of them were so streaky that I had to! I also used another Whimsie on this mani. It was from Pam's last collection, Kiss Matte. I really liked the matte on this! They Whimsies helped to save this mani!

The GOOD!

This is Bottle Service, of all the neons this was my favorite. It went on in three coats and was not streaky. I can actually see myself wearing this one without having to wear a top coat! I bought this at Target yesterday for $ 7.79

Saturday Disco Fever. This polish was not that bad. It took 4 coats, but it turned out pretty good! I would probably use this polish again on its own. You just have to be really careful with it! I also bought this at Target yesterday for $ 7.79

The BAD!!!

DJ Play that Song...I ordered this polish from Ulta because I some points I was dying to spend! Wow, I really wasted those points! It took me four coats and I still was not happy with it. This had to have a glitter over it!

                                                                    The UGLY!!!

Shake Your $$ Maker, I bought this at CVS. This neon was the worst out of the neons that I have. I mean it was horrible, streaky in places, sheer in other "OMG". This is the worst neon I have ever used! Not only does it go in horrible up close the color is not pretty. It's not to bad in this picture but trust me!

So I am not sure about the other neons in this collection, there are three more colors a lime green, a bubble gum pink, and a blue.  If you want to check them out yourself check this out! http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2259172&productId=xlsImpprod5360013&navAction=push&navCount=1&categoryId=cat80068

They are $8.00 but if you find them at Target they are $7.79!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! If you have any comments, questions, or would like to see a comparison mani, please let me know!

Texture Mani-Is it for you?

Hey ya'll,

Happy Tuesday! Today I have some textured nail polish. This has been popular for awhile and for the most part I have stayed away from it. I did buy one of the Zoya Pixie Dust which I do like. I was happy to see at my local Walgreens that they had finally gotten in the Fuzy and Candy Coat. I am sure we were probably the last Walgreens in the world to get it! Nevertheless, I was excited! So I Fuzzy Coat in Wool Lite which is a light pink bar glitter in clear base. The other  polish was Candy Coat in Cotton Candies which is a you guessed it, a cotton candy pink. So here are the pictures...what do you think?

Right hand:  thumb SH Cotton Candy, then I put a polish that has nothing to do with the theme which was Julep Rebel with Cirque XX on top,  Alessandro Midnight Black is SH Wool Lite, then Julep Rebel with Cirque XX on top,  then SH Cotton Candy!

So on my pinky over Alessandro Midnight Black is SH Wool Lite, then SH Cotton Candy, then  Julep Rebel with Cirque XX on top, then SH Cotton Candy!

Ok so my opionion. I did like both of these. But I do not see this being an everyday mani! I loved that I could try these without spending a lot of money! I do not see myself buying any of the higher ends brands either! Both products were $6.99 each!

Memorial Day Mani-Redo!!!

Hey ya'll,

EDIT: Ok so I ended up re-doing my mani! So top pictures are my second mani!!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying this Memorial Day! It is special to me because my husband and uncle both have been in the armed service. It seems like there are so many holidays that the meaning gets lost (ex. Christmas, July 4th, and Memorial Day is one of the biggest ones that the meaning is forgotten. So many people think Memorial Day and they think: "start of summer, going to the lake, cookouts", etc. But we forget that Memorial Day is to reflect and remember those who have lost their lives protecting our freedom and way of life. I know one little manicure on my part does not begin to express how thankful I am for everyone who is in the armed services. They made the decision to join fully knowing that there may be a time when they have to put their lives on the line for our freedom. So in honor of all those who have made that decision THANK YOU!

Here is my Memorial Day mani!

L-R: (thumb) has Whimsical Ideas by Pam Cookie Monster over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, (from first mani) Deborah Lippmann My Old Flame with Julep America on top (this polish came out for July 4th last year, it has stars in it but they are hard to fish out), Deborah Lippmann On the Beach (don't I wish :) with Whimsical Ideas by Pam Seuss, (from first mani) Whimsical Ideas by Pam Sparkly Markaly, and Deborah Lippmann On the Beach (don't I wish :) with Whimsical Ideas by Pam Seuss again!

So if you read my Popsugar May review you saw these margaritia mixers I promised I would try and let you know. Well I tried the Mango and mom tried the regular and we both loved them. I put a little to much tequila in hers so it was a little strong, but I learned my lesson, because mine got very little tequila! But they were great and I'll let you know as I try the other flavors! I also loved that they came with the salt crystals, yum!

This was my first Memorial Day mani!!!!

So these were all the tools I used to make the mani! Please understand that I am not 100% happy with the way this mani turned out! I ran out of time so I had to settle for what I had!

Ok so here is my left hand. Here is what is on each nail from L to R!

*Andreas Choice Reverso with Butter London  mixed with Color Club Art of Seduction (for a little glitter) and Julep Marisa for the dots. Used a dotting tool to make the dots!

* Deborah Lippmann My Old Flame with Julep America on top (this polish came out for July 4th last year, it has stars in it but they are hard to fish out)

*OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls is the base with Butter London Pillar Box Red mixed with Color Club Art of Seduction (for a little glitter) and Julep Marisa. This nail look a lot better in person then in the picture!

*Butter London Pillar Box Red with Whimsical Ideas by Pam Sparkly Markaly on top

* Julep Marisa with Julep Paris on tip

Next left hand L to R!

* Deborah Lippmann My Old Flame with Julep America on top (this polish came out for July 4th last year, it has stars in it but they are hard to fish out)

So this was my small tribute to everyone who has served our country! Thank you for everything!

Fab Five...2nd Edition!

Hey ya'll

Hope everyone had wonderful Sunday. I had a wonderful time in my church's nursery with some beautiful kids and wonderful friends!

Since I have my wonderful new HP computer I can start doing my Fab 5 again! I'll explain my picks as I go!

Top going clock wise:

Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Royal
Benefit Fine-One-One Sheer Brightening Color for Cheeks and Lips
Alterna Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist
Got 2b POWDER'ful Volumizing Styling Powder
Jergens Natural Glow 3 Days to Glow Moisturizer, Medium to Tan

First is  the Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Royal. I've wanted this color since I got this brand in a Birchbox this summer in Curacao in a beautiful blue color. So when I saw it on the colors these came in I new the purple would look good with my green eyes! Check out the pictures!

This cost $22, which is a little much for me and eyeliner but I love it. I actually used Ulta points to buy it so I did not feel quite as bad about the price tag! Here is a link if you are interested!

http://www.sephora.com/sparkle-waterproof-liquid-eye-liner-P285619?om_mmc=GoogleKWL-ws

Next up is the Benefit Fine-One-One Sheer Brightening Color for Cheeks and Lips

This is a product is one I've been looking at for awhile but the $30.00 price tag has kept me from purchasing it. Well you all know how I love to trade on Makeuptalk.com so I finally found one to trade for! I was so excited because I would try it and all I had to give up was some products I already did not want! I use it with a bronzer over it!

You can see in the top picture that you swipe it. It has three colors that blend together. On my hand at the bottom you can see what it looks like when you first swipe it. Above it you cannot see it good because of the lightening is what it looks like when it is rubbed in. Take my word, it is gorgeous! Here is the link if you are interested in purchasing!

http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/product/view/fine-one-one?ext_id=psad&ext_id=adaff_ZXZsuJIQEQ4&siteID=ZXZsuJIQEQ4-uI.ZhZ96RiCjzk7kED8_wQ

Ok next up is my new fave for summer, Alterna Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist. I love to tone down my curls in the summer and do the beachy waves thing. But it is always hit or miss if I get it right or it ends up being to curly, crunchy, or something! But this has been my new beachy hair savior! I got this in my Glossybox, so I just have a deluxe sample and it is quickly disappearing! A full size in this $22.00. But it is totally worth it. Sorry I do not have a picture of my hair to post with it!

The next two products are drug store brands because I love them just as much as Ultas and Sephoras! First up is Got 2b POWDER'ful Volumizing Styling Powder. This is great to put right at the root and to tease alittle or to add to a up-do then tease to really get it volume plus holding power. I've already gone through one of these and I am almost through another! On the website I found it on it was $5.99. I think that is about what I paid for it at Wal-Mart!

See the white powder. It just blends into your hair. It really does have a weird feeling as it does. It kind of turns cold! Here is the link or check out your local Wal-mart or drugstore.

http://www.drugstore.com/got-2b-powderful-volumizing-styling-powder/qxp399012?catid=183521

Last is a product that I have become dependent on, Jergens Natural Glow 3 Days to Glow Moisturizer, Medium to Tan. As I've said before, being a southern girl, being tanned is kind of a requirement. Now I know a lot of beautiful southern women who has the beautiful pale skin. But unfortunately, I am not one of them. I just look sickly, period!  Since I have skin cancer in my family I live with sunscreen on all summer, no questions about it! But I like to look tanned and this does it for me. First of all, I love it because it has NO SMELL, which if you have been looking for sunless tanner your whole life you know what a  big plus it is to find a sunless tanner that does not smell. It also does a gradual tan so you do not look orange, just gradually builds your tan up! You can also find this at your local Wal-mart or drugstore. I took a picture of my arm, but didn't do it before I put it on so I will do another post later with before and after pictures!

http://www.drugstore.com/jergens-natural-glow-3-days-to-glow-moisturizer-medium-to-tan/qxp470891?catid=182955

So at drugstore.com I found it the cheapest for $7.99. Wal-Mart normally has it for $8.99 and places like Walgreens and CVS, it's around $10.99.

I hope you liked the second edition of my Fab Five! I've already picked out items for my next Fab Five so I cannot wait until next weekend! Have a great Sunday night and Memorial Day weekend!

"Old" and New Fave Indies!!

Hey ya'll

Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend! I hope you are at the beach or camping or doing  something fun for the Memorial Day weekend. I've got two really sick grandmothers so between one getting out of the hospital and the other one with Parkinson's who slipped and fell I don't have much fun in mind! But I did get a new computer (thank Mom!) so I am still trying to figure out Windows 8!

Anyway, this week has been crazy with receiving nail polish. I've got some Essies from the neon collection, Sally Henson texture coats, and great indie polishes! So today is going to be Indie Saturday! Ok, so the teachers I taught with this year gave me a gift card and of course, I used it on NAIL POLISH! We went out to eat and I asked them to guess what I spent it on and it took two guess, first was make-up (I told them to get more specific) and then they guessed  nail polish! So I get the Llawore emails when they are getting new stock. I get so excited by the emails because I am trying to get an Emily de Molly polish Super Vixen FOREVER, and I always get cart-lifted before I can check out! Unfortunately, this email was not a Emily restock but I did see a new name and it was Glimmer by Erica, so I checked it out. OMG, I totally loved it! The polish is beautiful and I could have ordered 4-5 polishes (but I had to save some of my gift-card for the Dollish polish  restock!)

SO FIRST THE NEW

So here is Twilight Sky over Ruby Wing Color Changing polish in Groupie. Ok so it's only on one nail because this polish needed to be thinned, bad. I was out of thinner at this time. I have since gotten some thinner and used it and it helped ALOT! However, I forgot to take a picture of that! It was over a solid black and beautiful!

This is Matte About You. It is over Essie Sunday Funday (which is one of the new Essie's I got!)
This was really pretty color and pictures don't do it justice! They manicure was a quickly done one in the 20 minutes I had between jobs so sorry it's a little sloppy. I think that this polish would look great with Pam's Kiss Matte matte polish. I will post that when I try it!

NOW THE "OLD"

Now when I say "old", I mean an "old" favorite. Really it is not that old, I've been in love with Whimsical Ideas by Pam since January! Sorry it's taken so long,I've been gradually getting all of her Spring 2013 polishes and here they are! Also Pam will be re-releasing three polishes that had been discontinued on Sunday at 9:01pm: Saturday Morning Cartoons (yea!!!), Hatched, and Georgia Peach Fuzz (I mean as a GA girl you know I'll get this one!) I plan to order all three so I'll be posting those soon!

Crazy Daisies Limited Edition Label and 14 Carrots
Crazy Dasies is over Butter London Cheeky Chops. This polish is a yellow base with Dasies over it This is a pretty. The Daisies come out so easy and they are so cute in person!

14 Carrots is over Deborah Lippmann Lara's Theme. This is a beautiful glittery orange. If you like orange, you have got to have this polish!

Next is La De Dots. It consist of small dot glitter in all kinds of colors. This is over a Julep color and I cannot find the name, but it was dark purple with a little gray. This was another rushed manicure so please excuse the mess! I think this color is sooo beautiful that it would look good over any color!

Back to the Garden  and Kiss Matte

Back to the Garden has pink flowers, purple butterflies, and different sizes and shapes of green glitter. It's over from L-R  over Butter London Cheeky Chops, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Essie Bachelorette Bash, and Picture Polish Wisteria. Kiss Matte, which is matte top coat,  is over the top of all of them.

May's Popsugar...Love, love, love it!

Hey ya'll

Sorry it has been awhile with school getting out, cleaning out my classroom, working my other jobs, and a computer dying, it has really hurt my blogging schedule. Hopefully, I can be back on track now. Today I am reviewing my May Popsugar Must Have Bag. I have subbed to this box since December. I have not reviewed it on here because this blog is about things I love and I have just felt less then enthusiastic about Popsugar (PS) lately. This box cost $35 (I know, it's alot). So I did not feel right posting about it until they had one that I really loved and they finally have! I totally loved every item in this box and finally feel like I have one that is worth the cost. PS was on the cutting block this month so I think that they bought themselves a couple of extra months with this box! So enough talk, here it is...

The theme was Kick of Party Season and think the items work well with theme. If you are interested in subbing to Popsugar check out this link http://popsu.gr/QZv. This is a referral link and I will get credit for it. But I am not even sure what you earn with referrals! Here is what was included with the pictures listed below:

Must Have Fashion: Kooringal Giselle Mid Brim Hat in graphite. Ok, can I say I am in love with hat. I think this a perfect for a pool or beach party. Basically perfect for anything out side! I have not worn it yet but I am totally excited about it!

Must Have Food: The Modern Margarita- these are small bottle of mixers to make a lot of different kinds of margaritas. Again, perfect for a get together with the girls to try different flavors and with all these flavors you are sure to suit everyone's taste buds! The flavors are Watermelon, Authentico Margarita, Blood Orange, Mango, and Strawberry! So excited for the next girls night out! These will definitely be used. I have not tasted them yet, but I am sure they will be great! It also includes rimming crystals so all you need is tequila, ice, and a glass. They also say you can drink them without the tequila for those who are not into drinking!

Must Have Enterainment: Questions I Ask Myself When I Want to Talk About Myself Deck- These are conversations cards that will go perfect with the margarita mixers at the next girls night out. I am saving theses to open on that occasion, but the reviews I've seen about them are great! They are made to spark up the conversation so these should be great!

Must Have Beauty: The Original BeautyBlender and Cleanser. This is perfect for getting ready for your next big party! I have owned one of these before and left it behind at the last Special Ed conference so I was so excited to get this. I actually received the cleanser for this in a Birchbox before and it was not even a quarter of the size this one is! The blender is used to put foundation on and it is amazing. It goes on so smooth and easy to contour with! The cleanser can also be used to cleanse any makeup brush and it is the best cleanser I've ever had for it!

Must Have Beauty:  Pacifica Natural Color Quench Lip Tint. For you low maintenance girls, this is perfect. This is perfect to wear with your hat at your next pool party! It gives you just enough color so you don't look to made up (which is one of the biggest Don't in MHO that is broken here in the south! Your makeup should not look like club makeup at the pool, just saying)! The smell delicious along with being pretty!

Must Have Fashion: Charm and Chain $30 Gift Card- So I've never heard of this store, but I loved the picture that was in the booklet describing the items. So I was soooo excited about checking out the site. Boy was I let down, not because the stuff was not amazingly beautiful, but because it was sooooooooo expensive. I mean I tried to find something under $100, it was not happening besides maybe an $80 brooch. I was sooooo let down. But it was my only let down! Anyway, if you could afforded it this would look incredible for any kind of party this summer!

Must Have Food:  Way Better Snacks- I got the Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips and they were amazing! I will be buying these for tailgating this fall. Oh yea, these chips, the hat, and me will be tailgating at the first UGA football game!

Then they also threw in this month a reusable tote bag with Popsugar on it! I can always use a tote bag especially when I am tailgating! So to some it up, I totally loved this bag! Now check out my pictures!
