Holo-Crazy!!!

Hey y'all,

So lately I have joined a few Facebook groups that have really opened up a lot of different polishes and indie brands! But one thing I have totally fallen in love with is holograhic polishes! Linear or scattered doesn't matter to me! I love them all! Here are 6 of the ones that I currently own, that I totally love!

 Skittles Holo Mani
L-R Girly Bits Bachleour Buttons, Pretty Jelly Plum In Love, Pretty Jelly Fairy Ring, Nail Nation 3000 (thumb-A England Lady of the Lake)
Index-Pinky: A England Lady of the Lake, NailNation 3000, Girly Bits Bachelor Button's, and Pretty Jelly Diamond S-teal-er (thumb- Pretty Jelly Plum In Love)

***Every nail had Spectraflair Topcoat by Piper Polish (holo topcoat)  and  Seche Vite Fast Dry Topcoat**
NailNation 3000 Glam Bot on my pinkie nail. I bought this polish in a blog sale and I totally loved the brand! I will be purchasing more soon!
Girly Bits Bachelor's Button.I loved this blue/purple holo. I order this from Llarowe.

Sorry the picture is a little blurry. I was trying to catch the colors in the bottle. This is the indie brand Pretty Jelly Diamond S-teal-er. This on my pinkie nail. It is a green that leans blue. I really like this indie brand. It goes on super smooth. This is more of a scattered holo IMO. It cost $10 for a FS, link here is a if you are interested in purchasing !

Another Pretty Jelly polish Plum in Love, this is her mini size which I prefer to get so I can try more colors and I never use a whole bottle! This red/plum polish. The mini is $4.25 here is the link

The last Pretty Jelly in Fairy Ring which is a moss green holo. The mini is $4.25 and here is the link

This is not the best bottle shot but you can see it on my thumb nail. The is A England Lady of the Lake. I bought this from Llarowe awhile back. I have a thing for purple polish so I have to have as many purple holos as possible! It cost $10 and here is the link

This mani get 100 times better once you step outside! I love looking at it in the sun! So pretty! I loved all 6 of these polishes but my fave holo is Emily de Molly's Devotion which I already did a post about! I am starting to get in Enchanted Polish, which I had no use for before when I didn't really love holo's! I do LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Djjinn in a Bottle which is a holo topcoat, but I only use it when I know I will wear the mani more than one day! I will do a post on the Enchanted's I have soon!

So let me know what your favorite holo polish is. I am looking for a fuchsia holo and have not been able to find one! Please comment or leave me a message at heathereaves6@gmail.com

Back... with July's Birchbox

Hey y'all!

Sorry I have been missing in action for awhile! My precious grandmother that I have spoke about on here passed away. Even though we knew it was coming it has been really hard! I have spent every night with her the pass 6 months and I have a very empty feeling now. I was the only grandchild that lived in town so I was little spoiled by her!

Anyway, to the post! Birchbox for July was extremely disappointing for me. I ended up getting two repeats! One reapeat I got in this back in June last year. The other repeat I actually got in another account that I do not have anymore. I did get a 100 point credit for the repeat, but it is still frustrating! Like I have said before I get a box for my mom and mom-in-law, they go through a pick out what they want and give me the rest. Well both of their boxes also had repeats in them. So in all on the three account I have I got 300 points which equals $30 ($10 on each account). I appreciate the points, but I don't appreciate that they are still sending samples out from June last year. I mean the reason I joined was to get new products to try out! Anyway here was my fave box out of three (well I got two of the same boxes, so it was fave of the two different boxes)

July Birchbox

First up: Model Co Party Proof Lipstick (FS $19). I was actually really excited about the lipstick until I saw the color! The nude is just not my thing. It looks horrible on my pale skin! My lips need color on the, no doubt about it!

Next up:Curly Hair Solutions by Jonthan Torch Curl Keeper. This was the repeat in two of the boxes. I really do not like this stuff. It is really watery and I cannot tell that it helps with my curls. So I was really disappointed to get two more samples. This went to my MUT trading list!

Third item: Juicy Couture La La. Well what can you say, its a perfume sample that you can get free from Ulta or Sephora! I do like the smell, but I wish they would not send these out or if they do, I wish they would not count as one of the five items. Ipsy sent out rollerballs not long ago in their bags. That is they way they should do perfume!

Next up: Benta Berry G-1 Moisturizing Face Cream. This was the other item I had received on abother BB account. I like it, but not enough to buy the full price. This was the Suits Pick. I think that is a TV show that did some collaborating on the box. But I think they just showed them all the BB extras they had from other boxes and told them to pick out a few items.

Last, but not least: Birchbox Bobby Pins. These turned out to be my favorite items from the box! They are really cute! I love to put them in my up-dos that I have been rocking this summer becuase if the humidity and the frizzy hair! These are gray, but I also got them in blue!

So I think you can guess my feelings on the box! I am getting close to dropping this sub and this words I never thought I would type! BB started me on sample boxes so I hate to think about dropping it. If you are interested in trying it here is the link http://birch.ly/12Z1IEx
This is a referal link for me so I will get 50 points if you use it!

So what did you think about this box? I would love to see what other people got in their boxes! Comment below or send me an email at heathereaves6@gmail.com

July 4th Mani

Hey ya'll and happy July 4th!

I know you guys are busy today so lets get right to the mani!

Thumb-I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as a basecoat, on bottom half the right hand half I used Julep America and left half I used a dotting tool and Deborah Lippmonn My Old Flame and Julep Ally

Poniter- -I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as a basecoat, I used a dotting tool, but I really got a lot of polish on the end and pressed down hard to get the bigger dots, Deborah Lippmann My Old Flame and Julep Ally

Middle- Used Julep Alley as a basecoat, then used the thin brush on the other end of the dotting tool to paint the white stripes. I really had hoped that my stripping tape would come in the mail, but it didn't, so I had to do the best I could!

Ring- DL My Old Flame basecoat and Whimsical Ideas Sparkly Markaly (which I forgot to take a picture of!)

Pinky- Julep Alley as a bascoat with Whimsical Ideas Moon Over Miami

All nails have Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat .

I hope you like it! Please ignore my horrible cuticles! I cannot seem to get them better!

Everyone have a wonderful and safe July 4th!

July Julep...It Girl!

Hey ya'll!

Hope everyone is getting ready for some awesome July 4th activities! Unfortunately my small town pretty much closes down for the 4th so we have already had out fireworks show at the lake! I agree to work taking care of the recreation department and fields so I cannot go anywhere overnight! So I guess we will be grilling out and hanging out with the family and dogs! Anyway to July's July box.

I chose It Girl this month. This was about the hardest time I have had picking out a box. There were a couple of boxes I loved but I did not think it would look good on my skin tone. It was Classic with a Twist and this was picture that was sent out. Aren't the colors beautiful on these hands? Just do not think my pale hands would have loved as good! But I am kind of wishing that I would have tried it since I got my box!

But I chose the It Girl Box mostly because I did not care for the beauty item and a polish called Tracey in it. So this was what was sent in the email for It Girl

And here are my pictures...

                                                                       Nadia
A sun-kissed golden frost

I liked this color. I actually thought it would be my least fave, but I ended up liking it a lot more then Angela. I used two coats with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.

                                               Angela
Deep sea blue molten

I kept getting more of a green color then blue out of this polish. When you moved it in the light it looked a little more blue, but not much! I've already found it a new home through trading on Makeuptalk.com (MUT)

I saved the best for last Tracey
Sparkly ocean blue with Sea Salt finish

I see this polish as more of a purple then blue, but maybe my eyes are just off! I loved this polish! It was the main reason I chose this box! It went on so smooth and just sparkled in the light! In the top picture I used a top coat, the bottom one I didn't. You cannot tell much difference in the pictures but once you put the top coat on it really sparkles and catches the light crazy! I do like it both ways though! I wish I would have gotten Classic with a Twist and just added this polish on! I guess I will try to get it on MUT!

If you would like to join here is the link
It cost $19.99 a month but there are always codes that will get you it free or for 1 cent. I am not sure which works now as they change it a lot but you can try these: FREEBOX, PENNY, FREEMAVEN, JULEPVIP. Let me know if you are interested and these do not work and I will look more up for you! The link above is a referral code for me so I would love if you would use it, if not its ok! I still love ya'll!

So what did you think about It Girl? Did you like it? If you got another box let me know and if you have pictures email to me at heathereaves6gmail.com

Glossybox June- Dallas Shaw Collaboration

Hey ya'll!

Hope you have had a wonderful weekend! I got my much anticipated Glossybox yesterday! I was actually not as excited about this box as I was a couple of weeks ago. If you have not been following the blogs about it to make it short and sweet, Bondi had worked with Dallas Shaw to create 6 six shades to be released in this box. But Dallas Shaw's attorney let Bondi know about a week before the box was about to be released that they were not going to be able to sell the polish after the box came out! Bondi had intentions to from the start so Bondi pulled out. I totally do not blame Bondi for pulling out. They are a group that donates all money after to cost to charities. Below are the pictures that were included in the GB Magazine which I guess was printed and ready to go before the Bondi/ Dallas Shaw stuff happened! Here is there link if you would like to try out their polish and support this great company! http://www.bondinewyork.com/

Aren't these colors really pretty. I would have loved to have ANY of them. Believe me they are so much better then the color from the replacement brand!

                                                           So to the Glossybox...

This is a picture of the box and a picture if the insert that list the products that were included. It was designed by the oh so great Dallas Shaw (I say that in a very sarcastic tone). I know that this was a collaboration box, but every page of the glossy magazine had her picture on it. Well not every page, but out of the 38 pages there are only 9 pages that she is not on!  After the Bondi thing I was over her by the time I got the box! Nevertheless, on to the contents!

Here is the full box. I will go on to the individual items below!

tarte Complexion Enchancing Lipstick

Fair-to-Light

Since the Bondi was not included in this box, this became the item I was most excited for! I was really impressed by it! This is a swatch of it! It looks a lot better on the lips then swatched. I am more into the shimmery lip gloss (I can't help it, I am a southern girl), but I do like this product! Full size is $14.00. I think that this was a full size

Oscar de la Renta Essential Luxuries

This was the other item I was really excited to get. It included 6 small spray samples of different fragrances. I found three of the 6 that I really liked. In the GB Magazine it included description of each smell and inspiration behind the smells! Full size for this is $150.00

SpaRitual Nail Polish
 Kiss the Cook

This was the replacement for the Bondi polish. I absolutely hate the color! I wear just about every color nail polish that there is, but this ain't one of them! The formula was good so I am going to try and trade on MUT for another color in it. In all the marketing that I saw for it was an orange color that was great for summer (check the photo below with a swatch of the polish color). This is soooooo not a summer color! The polish is $12.00

c. Booth Honey Almond Dry Oil Mist

I really like this product. It smells really amazing and felt awesome going on! Full size
is $8.00.

Philip B. Volumizing and Clarifying Shampoo

I have not used this stuff. I do not care for the way it smells though! I will probably but it up for trade on MUT so maybe it can go to someone who can use it!  Price was not listed on the card.

So here was the Dallas Shaw Collaboration box. It was definitely better then the regular boxes. I am cancelling my GB subscription. I will probably re-sub when they do another collaboration box or if it looks really good. At $21/box I would like to see more/better brands! I have cancelled once and they got me back in December with a 40% code. Since December there have been three good boxes, this one, the Man Repeller box which was AMAZING and another collaboration and one regular box they had in December. So out of 7 boxes only three were good! Not a good rate for $21! Let me know what you think. If you got a GB what color polish did you get? Really interested to see the other colors that people got!

Lush Lacquer...Wow!

Hey ya'll!

Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend so far! We had a birthday party for my grandmother is very sick today. She wasn't aware of it but we were still celebrating getting to have her another day!

Anyway, today I am doing a review of a few Lush Lacquer colors that I just got! Lush Lacquer had a much anticipated release of their neon collection, that was postponed from earlier this year so I was so excited when they were finally released! I got two of them because I am on a nail polish budget! But I totally loved them! So here we go...

Chicks Rule

Ok, so I just realized that these are pretty crappy photos as far as the mani! Sorry about that! You can kind of get an idea of how awesome this polish is! I used it after on top of a white base. The pointer and ring finder are RubyWing Crowd Surf and KB Shimmer in Don't Pink Twice. I used two coats. Then like I do with a lot of my neon glitter coats I put a little on a plate and kind if placed a couple of glitter pieces. The a base coat of Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat!  I really hated to even take this mani off, I loved it that much!

TGIF

This polish is right up my alley! I love all the colors combined with the black and white! I used the polish with two different bases. the pointer and ringer finger use Julep Rebel and the others used Zoya Blu. I used two regular coats, the another coat to just touch up areas. I used my usual base coat Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat. I really got a lot of compliments when I wore this polish. I did catch myself looking at this polish a lot!

I plan on purchasing more when the budget allows! So if you want to purchase check it out at there Etsy shop under  Lush Lacquer

As a side not, I've actually hide some polish from Feburary from them that the bottle broke. So I sent them an email to ask the best way to get the polish out to another bottle and they told me that they would send me another bottle. I was really surpised! I thought that was really sweet. I had an accident with another indie brand that the bottle broke when I open it out of the package and was told that it was heat and their was nothing they could do! So props (wow, I just said props :)) to these wonderful ladies! So in honor of that I just thought that I would post some picks of the mani I did before the bottle broke!

Clowning Around

This was the broken bottle just to show you how it broke. It was so weird! I just opened the top and the whole top came off! I used this polish with a white coat obviously and the ring finer I used RubyWing Color Changing polish in Groupie! I used two coats and the dabbing method I described earlier!
